Carol Lynn, Seattle area Birth and Postpartum Doula
    CD(PALS,DONA)

My goal as a Birth Doula is to help you create a lasting, positive birth memory.  I believe that educating parents with a broad range of information empowers them to make their own choices about labor, birth and postpartum care.  The support I offer is tailored to your individual needs...I would love to be part of your team, helping you give birth with confidence and strength.  I would like to get to know you, and discuss your upcoming birth.  Can we get together?  I'd love to talk to you about your birth plan!  Let's set up a free, no‐obligation "meet and greet" to see if we are a good fit.  We can meet in a neutral location such as your favorite local coffee shop. Give me a call at (425)241–6963 or contact me by email at DoulaCarol@gmail.com.

Why a Doula?

Research has looked at the effect of having a continuous presence of a support person, who has been given some basic information on how to support women in labor.  It was found that women with continuous support needed fewer painkillers and had more chance of having a normal delivery.   They also found that women (and partners) were more positive about their labor experience, found it easier to adjust to motherhood and were less likely to suffer from postpartum depression. When a Doula is present, the partner is free to focus on the birth.  It does seem that support can make a tremendous difference!
